When Michael Jackson was a child he was in a group with his brothers called “The Jackson 5”. He soon gained popularity with his outstanding electric voice and new moves. Because of his world changing views of the world Michael Jackson is the most influential pop culture figure in this world's history.
During his long career, Michael Jackson changed the music industry by breaking down racial barriers. When he released one of his most famous songs, Thriller, he broke one of the most popular music broadcasting networks’ racial barriers. “Jackson continued as a pioneer in the black culture when he broke barriers by appearing on MTV, and by breaking sales records with the 1982 album, Thriller… MTV was arguably the best example of cultural apartheid in the United States” (Alban).
