It took over 2,500 years to complete the construction of the wall! According to the background essay’s timeline, so many segments of the wall have been started by different dynasties. They were always being extended, or torn down to repair and built anew. The first dynasty to start the wall was the Qin.
The Great Wall was constructed thousands of years ago. It was built over a span of 2,000 years and measures to be over 5,400 miles long. Over the 2,000 years of its construction, many dynasties would help construct it. Some of them were the Qin and Han dynasties. The wall would act as a barrier to help keep enemy’s out.

There are a lot of costs. They are it took a lot of time and cost a lot of money, there was a lot of mortality, and there was harsh working conditions. It took a lot of time and costed a lot of money. In document E it says, a lot of people died, they were forced to build the wall, and they were forced to move. Also while the people were building the wall, the temperature could get down to 20 or 30 below zero.
Most of the laborers who were taken to build the wall lost their lives due to various reasons. Soldiers from the Qin dynasty “died from hunger, sickness, and extreme heat or cold” and from the Han dynasty, the soldiers mainly died from the heavy fighting with the Xiongnu (document E). A poem written by an unidentified author from the Han dynasty explains the life of the soldiers who were protection the Great Wall (document F). They would fight with the Xiongnu in the north or the wall, and sometimes everyone had to face starvation because of the inability to harvest food. This was caused by peasants forced to join the military in order to keep the wall safe and some dying in the battles with Xiongnu which caused scarcity of peasants (document F).
He started the project by assigning 300,000 soldiers to manage the project of the Great Wall, along with millions of labor force common people and criminals. Even with all of those people, it took nine years to build the Qin Dynasty Great Wall (“Great Wall History” 1). In other dynasties, millions of other people were needed to build the Great Wall. During the Qi Dynasty, 1,800,000 common people were called up and forced to take part in building a section of the Great Wall from Xiakou to Hengzhou (Great Wall History 1). A section of the Sui Dynasty Great Wall took 1,000,000 people to build in Inner Mongolia (“Great Wall History” 1).
Samuel mistakened that Eli was calling his name but when Eli recognized that Samuel was hearing God speak to him, he told Samuel to say "speak, for you servant is listening." God said that He would judge Eli's family forever because of the sin he knew about; his sons lacked respect to God. Eli could have but did not kick out his sons or as God said, restrain them. The Great Wall came with many losses like all of the deaths but have you ever wondered what hey went brought? The people who built the wall went through many harsh conditions like a starvation, loneliness, boredom, the weather conditions, weakness, falling from the heights documents F, E, B. You never really starve or get lonely or bored now days because we have so much and we have a lo more freedom than what the people back then had, you cant talk with friends or text, no face time, no electronics. I still disagree with the wall being built because of he harsh conditions, the cost was greater than the benefits document F, B,

My areas of interest for college are the minimum population, small class size, a high rating of the college and a friendly and inspiring environment with motivation and opportunities. I want to apply to a competitive university in which it would force me to do the best of what I know in order to get accepted to the school of my choice. By doing this it will help me gain confidence in myself and make me feel accomplished for the knowledge I have. A few schools I am interested in applying for are; Temple University, Penn State University, Drexel University, Thomas Jefferson University, and lastly Buck’s County Community College. Due to the fact that I have experienced a transferring of schools, I was able to see things in a different view.
Around 1300 BCE, the Jews were slaves in Egypt, and their leader was the prophet Moses. Then God guided them through this trouble and Moses lead them out of slavery and to the Holy land of Canaan. God gave another covenant when the Jewish people reached Mount Sinai, reinforcing the covenant that God had given to Abraham. God promised again that the Jewish people are his chosen people, and will never give up on them. God told the Jews that they must pledge to serve God forever and obey his rules to make the world a better and holier place.
