Based on Nelson’s views that South Africa should be a place of peace and joy and his role in ending apartheid, it makes sense that he would create a speech empowering South Africa to hope for the same thing. This connects to why one of the benefits of reclaiming South Africa’s political narrative is ending human rights violations for their people because when Nelson was elected president and his goal was to end human suffering, the people of South Africa were hoping to do the same for themselves. African Americans define freedom by their experiences as slaves and their observation of the free society around them. However, United States had an assignment to rebuild the literal and political landscape of the South. Provided federal troops who had once attacked the rebel states were now ruling over them until local governments could be established.
Freedom is being more than just being legally free. Being free is having your own privacy of things, not just being legally free. Frederick Douglass was raised with no mother nor father on a Maryland plantation. In his early life he had witnessed unfair treatment of fellow slaves of his. Many of those slaves were relatives of his.
In Frederick Douglass’s biography, Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, an American Slave, he writes about his belief that all people are created equal. He also writes that none of us were born free in the first place: we have to make ourselves into who we are and earn our own freedom. Education and self-improvement are incredibly important to Douglas, perhaps because he was denied an education. As a slave, Frederick Douglass was not allowed to learn to read or write. This motivated him with the desire to learn above all else.
¨Freedom means you are unobstructed in living your life as you choose. Anything less is a form of slavery.¨ This is similar to Frederick Douglass because he lived his most of his life in slavery and then after slavery ended he chose to live his life the way he wanted. Frederick Douglass was an African American slave who wanted to abolish slavery after hearing the word abolish so many times. Douglass´s audience were many other African Americans who also said slavery was a bad thing. How slavery was bad for slaves and how it corrupts slave owners.
When Douglass imagines being free, he wants to be able to choose his own destiny without having to lie and hide from his true feelings. From the day he was born until the day he received freedom, Douglass had no say in any part of his life. Everything he did and had was forced upon him by his slave owners and people who had power over him. For slave owners to get slaves to agree to slavery, they had to destroy the slaves mentally. Slaves didn’t choose to be slaves because no person in this universe would accept slavery to be part of their life.
Nelson Mandela gave the speech in a courtroom where he and a few other ANC leaders were being accused of sabotage, furthering communism, and aiding foreign powers. He gave this speech to explain the actions that seemed out of place constitutionally for the ANC. He explains

College costs are skyrocketing, and at the same time we have students wanting to learn and become educated in order to contribute their knowledge to society. The student loan debt crisis is weighing upon us, so we need to reform the system. If I had the power to make a change, I would cut the costs of college education and lower student debt by a reformed banking system. One of the major causes of the student loan debt crisis is high interest rates for student loans. Too many banks offer loans and do not think how these students are going to pay back the money.
The African Nelson Mandela and the American Martin Luther King are important and influential heroes who made the world better somehow, in terms to fight for black people rights in their country. According to (www.dictionary.com), a hero is defined as “ the man of distinguished courage or ability, admired for his brave deeds and noble qualities”. Certainly, both heroes had the courage to sacrifice for black people with extreme power to resist the racism in the past using various ways. It is clear that the two heroes met their ambitions, but Mandela made bigger change worldwide and he was inspirational leader with severe willingness to fight for justice. Nelson Mandela and Martin King lived many similar situations which led to their great effort.
Children’s freedom involve, going place’s, getting things they want, and eating a certain kind of food they want without being judge . Adult’s freedom involve, living wherever they want, buying whatever they want, and working wherever they want. What does freedom mean to me? It means I get to do what I want without being judged. I’m free to live where I want, and eat what I want.
