The Yuan Dynasty under the Mongol empire has an extensive amount of public works as they built granaries to protect the dynasty from famine, and created large road and water networks. These public works allowed for the people to have large surplus of food and water and also be able to travel in a more organized manner with the road system created (New World Encyclopedia, Country Studies). Everyone in the Yuan dynasty had access to these public works as they were used to the economy and to keep everyone fed. While having these very useful public works the Yuan dynasty also had lots of techniques using technology for warfare and engineering. While using new warfare technology from the Chinese the Yuan were able to create a strategy to take down fortification by studying the way forts were made.

Paul Pintarich, resentful of people’s superficial interests and critical of a digital society. Rejecting time as an excuse, implores people to read for worldly perseverance. With the cynical tone of a defeatist Pintarich writes, “So what does this have to do with my job as a book reviewer on a daily metropolitan newspaper? Nothing perhaps, because, as our advertising department polls reveal, most of you won’t have read this far anyway.” The hilarious and strongly rhetoric paragraph of a fictitious dialogue between F. Scott Fitzgerald and Ernest Hemingway, both great authors of the so called “lost generation”, represents Pintarich’s contemptuous perspective on the changing times.
Lack of Creativity in Education Creativity and abstract thinking are seen as the basis of education, but more and more, these skills are being lost, and even discouraged, in the classroom. Fourteen-year-old Line Dalile, in her essay, “How Schools are Killing Creativity,” uses rhetorical strategies such as metaphors, ethos, and rhetorical questions to strengthen her claim on how schools are discouraging creativity in the classroom. Dalile uses a bold metaphor at the beginning of the article that strongly introduces her ideas on creativity in education. The metaphor is as follows,“.. it is destroying our fascinating, curious minds.”
I was born March 24, 1755 in Scarborough, Massachusetts. My father, John Alsop, is a former New York delegate to the Continental Congress. My family has always been quite affluent due to my father’s success as a merchant. After finishing my elementary education at the age of 12, my father sent me to Dummer Academy, a boarding school in South Byfield, Massachusetts. I later started college at Harvard in 1773 when only two years later my education was interrupted when our facilities were allocated to house soldiers during the Revolutionary War.
I know that creativity and the art is very important material for children to learn at a early age. Also in the creativity and art area they are able to figure out different problem and then are able to solve them. In the art area it can help boost their child self confidence and self esteem while in the classroom. One way I will suggestion to the families and caregivers is to make sure that their activities are age appropriate. The second suggestion I will make sure that they have enough room to explore and developing their gross motor skils.
Richard Parker 's Enlightenment A key moments in the book happens during the flying fish "plague." Pi watches fish jump aboard the lifeboat. As he unsuccessfully tries to collect them, he looks up to see Richard Parker eating with ease or even grace: "Actually, it was not so much the speed that was impressive as the pure animal confidence, the total absorption in the moment. Such a mix of ease and concentration, such a being-in-the-present, would be the envy of the highest yogis" (2.61.19) If Pi learns anything from Richard Parker, it 's how to engage with the actual, physical world.
‘One, I think that realizing that the place you choose to live- whether you make a conscious choice or not, you are making a choice-has a critical effect on your ability to do everything in your life, to pursue your career, your work, your love life, to educate your children, all of that. So just be aware of it like the way you are choosing your career. I think choosing the place you live is more important because all of those choices flow from it. ‘ Richard Florida in ‘The Rise of Creative Class’ Does where you live affect how you live? Sounds rhetoric, right?
Diane Trister Dodge is the lead author of The Creative Curriculum for Preschool which is managed through Teaching Strategies, LLC founded in 1988. The article History of Creative Curriculum tells us “The creative curriculum’s foundation is based on the findings of six main theorists: Brazelton, Maslow, Erikson, Greenspan, Piaget, and Vygotsky. Through their views on children the curriculum is constructed as a guideline for how to provide the best possible care and education for young children” (pg. 2). It also informs us that “T. Berry Brazelton and Abraham Maslow believed that children need their basic needs met, which include safety, belonging and esteem. Erik Erikson and Stanley Greenspan focused on the necessity of having supported, trusting
My whole life I have heard it said that children have better imagination than adults, is it because children take in imagination as adults are attempted to find maturity? Or is it because children are not embarrassed to show it? Is it that children have better ideas when it comes to having fun? Thinkering School is a creation made by Gever Tulley, where kids can make about anything and can be trusted not to get hurt. Tulley believes that by giving the kids the extra time and all the materials that are required, building not only becomes fun, but it also helps the kids to improve their problem solving skills, in addition, it guides them to be more creative by expressing their imagination.
Renowned psychologist, Jean Piaget posited that, the formal operations stage of development “is marked by the ability to think logically and in hypothetical terms” (Introduction to Contemporary Education Flashcards). According to him, this is also the stage where people wrestle with morality. The aspect of my life where I believe I apply formal operational thinking is in my current studies here at Empire State College. It is an unspoken requirement that logical, conceptual, and hypothetical thinking are essential.
