Has ever becoming a race car driver interested you? In Ricky Bobby, Ricky becomes a pit crew member on the laughing clown malt liquor racing team. He later became the driver for the team after the current driver quit during the middle of the race. After Ricky's first successful race he became an overnight celebrity of the NASCAR community. Ricky had to overcome challenges such as racing a racer from France that was out to take his best driver in the world status. This caused Ricky to have one of the worst car crashes he has ever been in. This crash allowed him to see how he was changed as a person and how he has treated others. In the ordinary world Ricky is striving to become a professional racecar driver. Ever since he as young he has wanted to go fast. Ricky's father whenever he was around he would give him advice that would be placed into good use through his whole life. The advice that was given was "if you aint first your last". This shows how Ricky gained the mindset of always wanting to win. Ricky's call to adventure was through an event that occurred, the event was during a pit stop, the driver of the laughing clown malt liquor racing car exited the car and left. The crew chief then asked the crew, " Who wants to go fast"? This shows on how Ricky gets his chance to become a professional race car driver causes by somebody else's actions. But during his call Ricky was not the willing hero at first, he was very reluctant. Ricky's mentor is his father, he has given him large amounts of advice and been a helping hand when he had to overcome his difficulties in life. He was a major help after his major crash where he was traumatized of high speeds. To overcome this his father told Ricky that he had placed cocaine at the bottom of his and called the police. Ricky then had to elude the police by driving at extreme speeds, once he broke away he observed the "cocaine" and it were lucky charms. This gives an example on how Ricky's father has aided him in overcoming his fear of high speeds, which gives supporting evidence that he is the mentor in this journey. Ricky's enemies are the French driver that comes to take away his status of best driver in the world. The drivers name is Jean Gerard, he even breaks Ricky's arm the first time he ever meets him. Another enemy is his best friend Cal he becomes a part of this list after he steals Ricky's wife and house. Ricky has a major test that he has to overcome and that is his fear of going at high speeds. This was caused after his crash attempting to beat Jean Gerard.
