It’s unique anyways within the Geek and Roman architecture that they evolved to be a great accomplish for a long time, where seriously they look indistinguishable. On the other hand that doesn’t mean that they are not different from each other, contrary each of them has a personality and a way to view its style. But when the Romans built the Pantheon , they used the Corinthean order for it's columns . The Greeks used the post and lintel , or the trabeated system many times , but the Romans relied on the arches , and made them more perfect than the Greeks did . Also the material used in the construction of their buildings were different depending on the available and more reliable material . So the Greeks tended to use the well carved marble , granite and limestones in building , but for the Romans these material wasn't commonly used , or wasn't used to build th structure itself but could be used for decoration , they rather used the concrete and mud bricks and that helped them in the construction of arches . According to the geographic difference between them , the way they constructed their cities varied .
Firstly I will elaborate on the history of the Roman Empire a little. At its very peak around 117 C.E., the Roman Empire ruled the Mediterranean area and parts of the Middle East and Northern parts of the African continent all the way to the British Islands. Whilst these days lasted the entire empire made use of one single language and one judicial system only. The Roman Army guarded the boarders to the neighbouring countries/empires, and also ensured order within the Roman Empire.
The Romans were heavily influenced by the Greek religion and borrowed many aspects of it, such as their gods and goddesses. The Roman gods and goddesses were often similar to their Greek counterparts, but they had different names and personalities. Five Greek gods that found a place in the Roman religion were: Zeus known as Jupiter in Roman mythology: Zeus was the king of gods in Greek mythology, and Jupiter took on a similar role in the Roman pantheon. Jupiter was often depicted with a thunderbolt, and he was associated with the sky and the weather.
Ancient Greek and ancient Rome are often confused with one another even though there are great differences between the two. Both countries are Mediterranean but have social class differences, different mythology, different life values and different architectural concepts. It is said that much of what Rome used in everyday life was taken from the ancient Greek civilization as the ancient Greek civilization started 5th century BC. Romans believed in equal voting, and equal access to the government for all, which is also shown in our Democratic Government. Greek art continues to play a key role in Literature and Art classes in our modern civilization. Greeks has highly developed literacy, which included drama, poetry, and music.
