William Shakespeare’s illustrious play, Romeo and Juliet, takes place in Verona, Italy where the readers meet start-crossed lovers, Romeo and Juliet and watch them meet by fate and fall in love instantly, whilst their parents are mortal enemies who have been fighting for decades. Their confessed love for each other doesn’t last long, as both of them commit suicide for the love of the other. After they decided they wanted to get married right away, Romeo and Juliet go to Friar’s cell to get married. Friar first questions the love because Romeo was in love with another women only a few hours ago. He only agrees to marry them because he thinks it will end the family tension. “In one respect I’ll thy assistant be; / For this alliance may be so happy prove / To turn your households’ rancor to pure love” (II.iii.90-92).
