Scope Argument Essay Did social media really start dangerous stunts, or was it us?
Social Media sites have not been around since the beginning of time, but kids have been, so why do people blame social media for the dangerous stunts that kids perform today. I believe that Social Media Isn’t responsible for the dangerous stunts done today by many kids. Even though kids say they do it for popularity online, the internet wasn’t around when kids first started these challenges for popularity. Despite all the actions from social media trying to prevent kids from attempting these stunts, It should be the parents job to monitor their kids. In addition to all the attempts being done by social media to stop kids from trying stuff like the Tide Pod challenge, the companies that kids use to do these stunts are even telling kids not to try eating a Tide Pod or doing the cinnamon challenge. Indeed social media should have not encouraged these dangerous videos but not taking them off right away and stepped up right away. Although many people blame social media not many ever thought about the parents and their responsibilities to keep their child in good care. The kids that post harmful videos most likely did not ask their parents for permission, so shouldn’t the parent be the one to blame for not raising their child well and not teaching them what they should and should not do? After a parent lives the reality that their child was hurt during an event that they chose to do, then they will start to tell their child not to do it, when they should have before the it actually happened.
