The Dust Bowl is the worst storm in the time period of the 1930s. ¨Dirty Thirties¨ as they call it was a really dark windy sandy place. Before the Dust bowl it was a dry dusty place that people could not see when they plowed to plant crops. The people caught in the Dust Bowl were impacted greatly because the dust killed their crops and made it really dark, so laws were made to prevent this from happening again.
The Dust Bowl was caused by bad farming techniques and impacted farming. The Dust Bowl was created by a severe drought, what the people in the 1930s in Oklahoma did they planted the crop that did good the year before so that they would make some money( History.com staff). It didn't help that the drought came that year, they plowed and it was doing good for a while (Trimarchi). The drought came in 1931. The dust grew on the top and when it came time to plant dust flew (History.com staff). The Dust Bowl is an environmental disaster that hit the Midwest in the 1930s. A combination of a severe water shortage and harsh farming techniques created it. When winds blew, they raised enormous clouds of dust. It deposited mounds of dirt on everything, even covering houses. What was once a heaven-on-earth turned into a black blizzard. The Black Blizzards is the Dust storms nickname it was named after black sunday. Before the dust storm Oklahoma was ¨heaven on earth¨(History.com staff). The Dust bowl was caused by malrotation of crops and a drought(History.com staff). The dust storm blew for more than 100 miles and with winds as strong as 60 miles per hour because it blew so hard the people had to wear wet damp cloths to breathe and filter the air and sand apart(About The Dust
