The weird Watsons go to Birmingham and experience a tragic event. With all that is happening in Birmingham the Watsons change. The change that happens in the Watsons is typical of the change in America. The Watsons are a typical family like me and you. The problem is that they all was find a way to help each other out in weird ways. Like when a bomb hit Joey’s church and joey thought that she say her brother kenny and followed him before the bomb. It changed the Civil Rights Movement in the 60’s by showing the world that we need to do something about this because it killed 4 young girls and that was some how lucky that it did not kill anyone else . The Watsons go to grandma Sands house and hear that someone had bombed Joey’s church. “Byron had just told me that someone had dropped a bomb on Joey’s church,hadn’t he?” The historical fiction novel, The Watsons Go To Birmingham 1963,by Christopher Paul Curtis is a story about a family that goes to Birmingham to visit their grandma and how they find out about racism after a bombing experience at church. In the watsons,Byron behaving bad. Kenny says,”I hated it when By walked past and said, Give my regards to Clark, Poindexter. Some of the time those words were like a signal for the other kids to jump on me. ”pg 64. Jim Crow Laws were not fair for everyone but since they were laws the people felt like they had to abide by them, even though they were wrong. This connects when Byron in the novel.This can be seen throughout the novel when By acks mean to kenny and how By/Byron knows that it is wrong. This shows that the Watson’s/by connects to the Jim Crow
