This essay discusses the effects of the Crusades on Europe and Jerusalem. The European Crusades were a series of religious wars fought between the 11th and 13th centuries. During the Crusades, many people; Muslims, Jews, and Christians died in battle while fighting for Jerusalem. There were economic, social, and political effects in Europe. In Jerusalem, there were effects economically and culturally. But they both had negative effects. The Crusades had many positive and negative effects on Europe and Jerusalem.
In Europe, the Crusades created a new class of warrior-nobles who had gained valuable military experience and gained much wealth and power. These nobles, in the future, would become the dominant political class in Europe, which formed the basis of the feudal system that characterized European society.
