The Crusades changed the Medieval world, as they set the stage. The Crusades were a huge influence in many areas including: Religion, Expansion, Trade and Economy, Government, Intelligence, and Culture. All of these components play a role in how the Crusades changed the medieval world. Christianity, for one, was incredibly impacted directly by the crusades, as the reason for them was to 'Take back the Holy land'. This caused the Churches to begin to hold more power, as people came to them for answers. Over time during these Crusades, the role of the Pope started to become more and more powerful as they held responsibilities. As Kings and Nobles would sell their land to their churches. As the Crusades went on, they held power over the public, taking the role of a leader. The Churches became a safe haven for many people. (Docs B and C) …show more content…

This was caused by so many different cultures and people mixing. While some places may have certain resources and consider them of less value because of their easy access to them, they also want things from the people from other places that were brought there by the Crusades. This increased trade and strengthened their economies. But eventually time came where it was more in demand to use currency rather than bardering, thus came the problem of different areas using different forms of currency. From this problem came the solution of banking, so that someone could trade their currency for the currency of a different place so that they could purchase things in this new area. Banks became more and more popular, people eventually storing money with them. (Doc
