The Great Depression is one of the worst moments in American History and it changed America in many ways. The Great Depression affected America economically, socially and there manufacturing. The Great Depression lasted for ten years from 1929 till 1939. This was one of the largest a darkest periods America has ever faced and America was not really ready for it and that was why it affected America so badly. The stock market collapsing was the cause of this Great Depression and it lead to people losing their jobs, businesses and some even their homes. Farmers were the group most affected by The Great Depression because their total combined income dropped tremendously. People lost their jobs and this ruined a lot of the economy physically and even mentally. The stock market crash or The Great Crash lead to many things like Black Thursday and people selling their stocks because of the panic that was happening during The Great Crash. The government tried to fix the stock market crash but it really was not helping. They passed different acts to fix the economy and make everything stable again but it was not really fixing anything. Before the stock market crash the economy and just America was booming economically, socially and the manufacturing production increased. Between 1921 and 1929 the United States manufacturing production increased from forty four percent to one hundred percent. This mostly happened because of the new technology that was being created and new businesses were becoming bigger because of these new technologies.
