The Industrial Revolution, lasting from the late 1700s until the early 1900s, was possibly one of the greatest time periods in this world’s history. This time period caused people to think more and dream bigger. From these big dreams rose up inventors, entrepreneurs, and business owners. The Industrial Revolution brought many new inventions and production processes, but along with great new things come great terrible horrors. While some might argue that Industrialization had primarily positive consequences for society because of the new production methods and what they produced, it was actually a negative thing for society.
The Industrial Revolution was a life changing time. As the world changed in many ways, so did the community and the people that lived in it. There was so much good, yet so much bad that occurred all at one. While some might argue that Industrialization had primarily negative consequences for society because of the filthy and dangerous work places and cities, it was actually a positive thing for society. Industrialization positive effects were increased productivity, technological advancements, and worker reforms.
Between the 1820s and 1860s, a time period that was greatly influenced by the Industrial Revolution, people were willing to work hard so that they could provide for their families. Slaves were still being used to help develop the United States of America by harvest crops such as cotton, and please their “masters.” were forced to work and help develop the country. Both slavery and industry helped the country grow financially. Slaves had to work harder to meet higher cotton demands. The introduction of the cotton gin also aided in the aided in the rapid production of cotton (PIIP 9).
The industrial revolution completely changed America as we know it. It brought many changes to our nation- some good and some bad. The Industrial Revolution changed how we produce and consume goods. It was so groundbreaking that we still feel the effects today. Prominent inventions of the time are pictured in document 3.
How the Industrial Revolution Affected American Lives A significant time in U.S. history was the Industrial Revolution which took place between the 18th and 19th centuries. Its impact on the way Americans lived was far reaching, especially in the areas of transportation, manufacturing, and inventions. The Advances in transportation provided greater options to move more goods and people over greater distances in shorter time. The invention of the steamboat and the development of canals and roads were all important factors.
The Industrial Revolution’s effects can be argued either way for the better or the worse. Many people have their different opinions. While some might argue that Industrialization had primarily negative effects for the society because of the horrendous living and hazardous working conditions, it was actually a positive thing for the society. Industrialization’s positive effects included economic growth, new inventions that increased productivity, and a higher standard of living helped people live better and more efficiently.
The Industrial Revolution was from 1750 to 1830, a period of time that caused an economical and cultural shift. This era brought a mix of positive and negative effects that not only affected the area it was in but also its surroundings. In result of the revolution there was the cottage industry, agriculture, harsh labor within the system of factory- based manufacturing that included complex machinery, the growth of technology, new resources and the development of transportation. Also the series inventions that increased the production of manufactured goods, which then led to the increased size in the population. A series of the positive effects that came from the industrialization mostly came from the factory owners and the individuals who were above the middle class.
The industrial revolution increased steel production which allowed the US to make a profit from trading and use the steel to improve transportation, farming and buildings. Industrial cities had many factories that burned coal which caused air pollution and increased steel production led to increased coal usage. Workers in the factories had dangerous, long work hours that they couldn’t protest. The industrial revolution had a large impact on working conditions at the time. Workers had to sign a yellow dog contract which prevented them from protesting unfair treatment and limited their freedom of speech.
The Industrial Revolution was one of the most influential periods of our modern history. This revolution gave people the power of faster, quicker and cheaper ways of life. Since the launch of the revolution, we have formed mass production of goods, easier ways of transportation, and economic growth. While some believe that industrialization had primarily a positive consequence for society because of the mass exports of goods around the world, it was actually a negative thing for society. Industrialization’s negative effects were child labor, city life, and worker’s salary.
War is a natural, historical, repetitive event. World War Ⅰand World War Ⅱare the most well known wars that have happened in history to Canadians. Canada’s contributions to aid the Allies in both wars helped bring both to a swift end. Comparing both World War Ⅰ to World War Ⅱ, Canada’s contributions can be shown as not only heroic, but godly. When entering a war, a country must portray itself a certain way.
Without a doubt, industrialization was one of the biggest factors in how the United States developed. It gave us the means of mass production, better transportation, and eventually the consumerist society that the United States is today. Industrialization did drastically change American society, but did it change America for the better? Did it do more good than bad? While industrialization did lead to multiple social and economic problems, the advantages significantly outweigh the disadvantages.
The Industrial Revolution has changed America in many ways, some good and some bad. The most important changes that brought about the Industrial Revolution were the invention of machines to do the work of hand tools, the use of steam, and later of other kinds of power, in place of the muscle of human beings and animals, and the adoption of the factory system. In my opinion the Industrial Revolution has done more good for America than it has done harm. In the beginning of the Industrial Revolution there weren’t many laws that governed the industries.
America’s industrial revolution was backed by the Gilded Age, 1850-1900, and many of the events that happened during this time period changed how Americans live today. The expansion of regional and transcontinental railroads helped to carry goods and people across the nation. The inventions invented at this time changed modern life. The Gilded Age was named “gilded” by Mark Twain for a reason, there were many good things to come from it, but underneath the surface, rich powerful men who owned factories did not take responsibility for worker’s rights, pollution clouded parts of the sky, and the gap between the rich and poor was largest during the Gilded age. America was at it’s turn of the century, people were moving from rural areas to urban areas, from working in agriculture to working in industry.
Something that was good about the industrial revolution was that there was more workers and people could get payed more. Things that were bad was that little kids could. That’s bad because kid get hurt for example, for kids who worked on farms would ride on horse rakes and easily fall off and get crushed. Kids would get overworked after working 12 hours a day.
The Industrial Revolution was a major change in the nature of production in which machines replaced tools and steam and other energy sources replaced human or animal power. The Industrial Revolution began in England in the middle 1700s. During the Industrial Revolution, workers became more productive, items were manufactured, prices dropped, making hard to make items available to the working and middle class and not only the wealthy. Life generally improved, but the Industrial Revolution was also harmful. Pollution increased, working conditions were harmful, and capitalists employed women and young children, making them work long hours for low wages.
