The Opium War and World War I both fit in the catagory of armed conflicts. Throughout history, armed conflicts have begun for various reasons. These conflicts have affected countries and different groups of people to find a solution for an existing conflict.
The Opium War was caused by England refusing to stop selling opium to chinese people. This was a benefit for England to make a lot of money, so they refused to withhold their profit making sales. The chinese government was having to spend great deals of money to treat their addicts. This war influenced china because it weakend a large percent of the chinses population.
