The Panama Canal was built to shorten the trip from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean, and it was also built to join the east and west coast navies. Building the Panama Canal has greatly impacted the world by cutting down expenses and travel time. Also, the Panama Canal is the world’s largest engineering project of all time. The construction of the Panama Canal required people’s time, effort, and money. Ferdinand de Lesseps, Gustave Eiffel, and Former President Theodore Roosevelt were only a few important people who all collaborated with others to attempt to lead the construction of the Panama Canal. Ferdinand de Lesseps was the leader of the French when they first attempted to build the Panama Canal. No one seriously started working
