Theodore Roosevelt was one of the most successful presidents that were ever alive. Theodore Roosevelt, also known as “Teddy” was most known for beginning construction on the Panama Canal. Even though Roosevelt’s presidency was unexpected to the whole country, Roosevelt was probably one of the most successful presidents. Roosevelt wasn’t a popular man before he became the president, but here’s how he was known. After the 1896 presidential election, William McKinley appointed Roosevelt as Assistant Secretary of the Navy. During McKinley's presidency, Mckinley was shot by an anarchist and eight days later he was reported dead. After this tragic event, Roosevelt as soon swore into office. During Roosevelt’s presidency, he had won a Nobel Prize for peace in 1906 for mediating an end to the Russo-Japanese War. Roosevelt also occupied and set up a military in Cuba, when he also was putting pressure on Canada in the boundary dispute for Alaska. What Roosevelt did during his presidency shows that any man or any woman can do anything they want, it’s showing that he was doing things that were helping the country as a whole. After all, Roosevelt was shown to be a hard-working man, a man that helped other countries, and a man that could do multiple things at once.
