WWII Warplanes WWII warplanes made a huge difference in the war, they added a whole new part to warfare by taking it to the air making the enemies always be on alert for a surprise attack that were to happen. They could be involved in deadly attacks that may help the side that launched it. They could ultimately change the outcome of the war but how? A famous example of this, although not during the war but a reason of why the war started, was the SS Lusitania it was a passenger ship that was leaving New York and was going to the United Kingdom, the germans, “adopted a policy of unrestricted submarine warfare in the waters around the United Kingdom. Even neutral ships, it declared, would be fair game.” (Jesse Greenspan) the germans sunk the ship and made the U.S. very angry. Although the ability of resupplying on boats was very hard to do, they used WWII planes to do the needed resupplying in the war. In addition to the planes dropping supplies, they were also had the ability to drop paratroopers, which were a unit of the military that would drop out of parachute and land on the battlefield, this made it easier to drop troops into a place that is difficult to get to without being spotted, it also made it easier to surprise the enemy because they could get to the battlefield without the enemy knowing unless they have radar to see the planes
