Athletics is a huge part of America’s lifestyle. There are many sports for both male and females, but females can’t play every sport known to mankind. Due to their gender, depending on the school or district, at a certain age girls are forced to stop playing male dominant sports. Coaches and teams of male sports, for example football, believe that girls have no place in the sport and will get severely injured. The reason is understood, but no one looks at how those decisions affect women in the future. Starting in middle school girls are not encouraged to mix with boys in sports, because of their age of twelve years old. When reached puberty, boys and girls are developed differently. They’re changed mentally, emotionally, and physically. Males grow in height and weight with more power and strength. Females develop more hormones that can cause them to be emotionally unstable at some points or to become more sensitive. Females also have an average height of five feet four inches, therefore it’s said that they have a higher risk of getting hurt while being involved in an aggressive sport. Sports are used for fitness and to have an opportunity to be more interactive with others. Physically speaking, a female can get unfit with lack of energy and low stamina. Of course, there are other sports for females, but there is not a guarantee that girls enjoy other sports. Sometimes male active sports like wrestling and football can be the only thing a girl has talent in. Not having a sport that a female wants to play can be effective mentally too. Such as, low self esteem, confidence, lack of athletics, slow endurance, and no practice in ways to deal with success or
