This provides the time and space for these sensitive topics to be expressed, increasing the understanding of how social support, communication patterns, and parenting styles affect the communication between a parent and a child. This attachment style is hard to change, but is not impossible. As determined before, parents are a child's primary attachment figure which helps children learn how to live and survive within the world. When these adolescents are infants and have an increase in communication and trust, it indicates a secure attachment style.
