Jurgen Habermas and Pierre Bourdieu view society as organized on the basis of social reproduction through their theory of lifeworld and system and social space rather than the economic or material reproduction that has been put to blame for shaping social life. Habermas conceptualized Lifeworld as our day-to-day life where we interact and share our ideas with others to build identities, negotiate situational understandings, and create social solidarity. All of this takes place in a public sphere, which is a necessity where debates take place and ideas are shared in order to understand our connected word.
