One of the most devastating news that anyone could ever receive is finding out that a loved one or themselves has cancer. It’s unimaginable, it hits you like a truck and no one ever sees it coming. One out of every three people end up hearing this devastating news. Cancer not only affects a patient’s life and changes their schedules but also the lives of others become impacted including adults and kids. The stress that cancer causes is enough to change the environmental balance of one’s environment. “ Pain is one of the most commonly feared symptoms cancer.” When cancer is first diagnosed there becomes a challenge to know that the illness is cancer. Some can’t even say the word for a few months or become angry and feel that they have been betrayed. Some even stay in posture denial that it’s not really cancer and, and that it will all be made well. This denial and delusion can even last up to a couple years for patients or family members. Even though cancer is very rare in children most people find it most devastating when a kid gets diagnosed with it. They still have a whole life ahead of them to live to it’s fullest extent. Over 50 percent of kids are diagnosed with some type of cancer before the age of 20. Each year around 15,800 kids are diagnosed with cancer in the U.S. alone, and 1,960 kids will die due to these ferocious diseases. However; even those who survive the battle against their disease will most likely have health problems in the near future. I can’t even imagine having your pride and joy, your child, be diagnosed with cancer. It just makes my heart
