Frederic Chopin is a Polish pianist in the Romantic Period. Frederic Chopin was born March 1st, 1810. Frederic was born in Zelazowa Wola, Poland. Frederic died October 17th 1849. Frederic died in Paris, France. In 1826, Frederic Chopin was a student at Elsner’s conservatory, where he was taught about music theory, harmony, and melody. Frederic mostly played piano and was also was a composer, but not much else. Frederic’s father’s name was Nicolas Chopin and his mother’s name was Justyna Krzyżanowska. Frederic also had an older sister named Ludwika and two younger sisters named Emilia and Izabela. When he was 16, he had composed several piano pieces in different styles, and his parents sent him to the Warsaw Conservatory of Music. Frederic was taught under Josef Elsner. When you listen to Nocturne, you can imagine a dark night, and the mood is sad. You can see someone walking on a dark cold night. But not all of his songs are sad. Some, like Ballade No. 1, starts off slow, but the more and more it goes on, it picks up speed. Chopin usually used this technique or skill to amaze his crowd. With Nocturne, the notes go up really high like a mouse running through a forest. Then the notes go down low, like a owl soaring overhead the trees. Chopin used this technique to his advantage many times.
In Prelude, you can imagine water flowing down a stream or river. Then the water flowing down a waterfall, like Niagara Falls. Or the notes are like little tickles down your ribs.
