Globalisation impact on Tesco CSR policies
Crane and Matten (2007) argue that globalisation is relevant to business ethics in three main areas:
1. Cultural Issues: In despite of globalisation, significant cultural and moral differences remain between countries that need to be taken into account by a globalised organisation.
2. Legal issues: Business ethics become a safeguard when regulation ends. With the current deregulation and internationalisation, governments are often powerless to apply a legal framework to a company operating abroad. This creates and increased need for ethical behaviour to ensure that companies do not abuse this lack of regulation.
3. Accountability issues: Consequence of the deterritorialisation of economic activities and globalisation is the lesser control than local authorities have

From the accountability point of view, Tesco aims to work with the local governments, comply with the laws of every country, aiming to trade fairly without taking advantage of customers or suppliers (Tesco plc, 2015 p.38).
Culturally, Tesco aims to "Understanding local culture that may have an impact on workplace decisions and ways of working". (Tesco plc, 2015 p.26).
Legally, Tesco acknowledges its condition of large international company that deals with millions of different people every day in many different countries. The company following its philosophy of "Using our scale for good" will work to ensure that human rights and all national regulations are followed to prevent any kind of abuse or breach of the law (Tesco plc, 2015 p.30).
