An evident tool in the communication of consciousness is the use of flashbacks with Jimmy/Snowman. They serve to show that Jimmy is having a “life review”, considering every single aspect of his life; past, present, future, as all the timelines merge together, ceasing to exist, as he is now aware of all the parts and pieces of his life, and the detailed relationships throughout.
