Arthur Miller shows the greatest transformation in John Proctor. This is so because of the drastic change through proctors life. He cheats, he lies, then dies humbally. Proctors change from a static character to a dynamic one changed the entire outcome of the book.
John Proctor is basically the tragic hero of “The Crucible”, the reason for this is statement is because the tries to save his wife from being hanged. He cares about his children, he also has tried not to cheat on his wife Elizabeth, while she was ill. At the end of the story Proctor is hanged due of his confession of being a warlock. In the rising action of the story John Proctor is trying to avoid Abigail, he states that “But I will cut off my hand before I’ll ever reach for you again.”
Abigail decided to start a sexual relationship with John Proctor. This led to heartbreak, compulsive lying, sneaking around, and legal trouble because she was under age at the time the affair was going on. Once John realized what he was doing was wrong, he decided to confess his sins to the court. John states, “I’ll plead my honesty no more.” This shows he thinks it’s best to confess.
The town Salem, in the crucible, has many characters that are known to be people of good character. Some have a much odd and darker past, which lead them to be later accused of some sort of crime that leads them to a life or death situation. Most characters deal with how they are looked upon around the town and others worry of their ‘ name ‘, and what people think of them. According to the court the only way to escape from being punished for what you’ve been convicted of is to confess the truth. Which is strange because it's more of a religious way than it is by Law.

Because of what has happened in Arthur Miller's life, and the content of the poem; the Crucible; we can accumulate that he would say yes. Arthur Miller would indicate that the Syrian refugees not allowed to come in would be considered a modern witchcraft.
A crucible is defined as a severe trial. The title, The Crucible, refers to the many moral tests shown throughout the book. Many accused witches underwent tests of moral strength and truthfulness via the trials. Elizabeth was tested of her truthfulness in court, the girls being tested of their loyalty and truthfulness during the trials of the accused, and Proctor being tested by his lust for Abigail and his desire to live during the trials.

Elizabeth says many things showing the sins John had committed hurt her and that she wants him to end it completely and come clean to his sins. This is evident when Elizabeth says “[t]hen go and tell her she’s a whore. Whatever promise she may sense - break it, John”, this shows Elizabeth just wants this whole thing to be over, and again that John has hurt her with his actions (59). If the others in Salem knew about this affair, they may not want to be around John, or believe a thing he says regarding the trials. Also, since Salem is a very religious colony, people may not like John because of his bitterness

John Proctor tries to blame everyone else until things turn around and start to impact his daily life.
