Affectionate, Sincerity, and Tranquil The story of “Desiree’s Baby”, the author Kate Chopin introduced a character, Desiree, who is a loving mother and caring wife. Desiree is a woman who feels no shame or inadequacy because she was a found abandoned on the road when she was a toddler and then she was found and adopted by the Valmondes. As Desiree gets older and becomes a young woman she meets a wealthy slave owner named Armand. Desiree and Armand knew that it was love at first sight. Desiree loves easily and without judge mentalism. Desiree becomes a young wife and soon after became a young mother. Desiree’s Feelings amongst her family portrays an ambivalent perspective of Affectionate, Sincerity, and Tranquil. Desiree shows Affectionate throughout the story to her baby boy and husband Armand. It is readily feeling she has for her baby boy and Armand. Desiree knew that Armand was a wealthy mean slave owner but she did not stop that for showing her true feelings for him. Desiree exerts a peaceful influence on the hard hearted Armand, which made Armand mean spirit happier. As she shows in the story, she is thrilled with her son and even more thrilled to see the pride and joy of her son’s father experiences.
