Growing up in district 12 must’ve been very difficult for Katniss. First of all, the district is a poor one. District 12 citizens are known as being hard workers. The district is responsible for all the coal throughout the capitol and all the districts. Meaning close to all citizens have jobs as coal miners or are children who cannot work in the mines yet. Having this obstacle for Katniss limits her so she cannot shine among the rest of the district. Compared to people in the Capitol, who seem to have everything available for them. When our protagonists visit the Capitol, it is said that the tributes say it is a clean, aesthetically pleasing city. There seems to be no poverty or struggle throughout the entire Capitol.
