Passenger Automobiles Perhaps no other invention has had more impact on society as the car. The car allowed societies to move to move their goods and people to new places faster and more efficiently than ever before. The car almost single handily created one of the biggest migration of American citizens in history-from the city to the suburb. The car paved the way for the fabric of American society-the neighborhood. Then for a while, the innovation amongst cars stalled. Society became disinterested in the car during the mid-20th century. However, the last twenty-five years have seen the return of the passenger automobile. Between brighter head lights, improved airbags, and stability control, known as ESC, have helped to make cars safer to drive and ride. This has made an impact in society by people having a more favorable view of cars and people trusting their cars to younger drivers. These innovations have also changed the car market, as society is more likely to buy the safer and more protective car, epically for the younger drivers in the family. Innovations in passenger automobiles has helped to make them friendlier for longer trips and vacation. According to Ben Stewart of Popular Mechanics, the GPS was added to cars in 2000 and Bluetooth technology was added in 1998.
