Passenger Automobiles Perhaps no other invention has had more impact on society as the car. The car allowed societies to move to move their goods and people to new places faster and more efficiently than ever before. The car almost single handily created one of the biggest migration of American citizens in history-from the city to the suburb. The car paved the way for the fabric of American society-the neighborhood. Then for a while, the innovation amongst cars stalled. Society became disinterested in the car during the mid-20th century.
