How does W.F. Harvey create suspense in “August Heat”? In the story August Heat by W.F. The main character wants to take the life of the old man cause he hates the old man’s dreadfully creepy eye. But the main character's problem is that he can't get himself to kill the old man without seeing his eye. So he shines a light on the old man's eye and soon attacks.
