I greatly enjoyed reading this novel. It kept me entertained and was an emotional rollercoaster for me. There was amazing action and character development. It really put into perspective how sectionalism affects society. The greasers in the story had to learn from adolescence how to survive on their own while Socs had become numb to all. Out of all the characters in the novel, I like Dally the best. He was as hard as nails and he did whatever he wanted. Additionally, he would and has dropped everything for those he loves to help them. Even if by helping them, he would go to prison. His death hit a soft spot for me. He committed suicide-by-cop and I am always sensitive about the subject due to my families history. I believe, it was the saddest
