Macbeth is a famous play written by Shakespeare. In this tragedy, a Scottish general is told that he will be king by 3 witches. With this new information and a little motivation from his wife Macbeth kills the king and takes his place. Due to his lack of sleep macbeth becomes extremely paranoid and commits more unnecessary murders resulting in a war and his death. This play shows the destruction that ambition can cause if morals are not present. This play has many themes and symbols that can be shown in advertisements and modern-day remakes.

Like the color gold in the poster, I wanted something that could show what motivated Macbeth's actions so I added a crown as a more obvious representation of what caused Macbeth to do what he did. I also added a bloody dagger as seen in Macbeth's famous soliloquy at the beginning of Act 2. I think the dagger is an important part of this play because not only does it represent the violence and murders that happen throughout the play but it also is seen before Macbeth's first kill. The dagger represents the beginning of Macbeth going crazy before he loses his morals and his need for power takes control. I also added an image of the witches because they are the cause of the whole thing. While they are not the main characters and are barely shown in the book I think the witches are incredibly important to the plot because they are the ones who even introduced Macbeth to the idea that he could be king and slowly drive him crazy with their fortunes. The witches are also the cause of Macbeth's downfall because of the false sense of security they gave him at the beginning of Act 4 by telling him that he will be king until the woods come to the palace and that no man born of a woman can harm him causing Macbeth too much confidence and security leading to his death at the end of the
