How Does Ursula Le Guin Use Flashback In The Wife's Story

Le Guin uses flashback, she shows that remembrance of husband and how he was before. She said he was a good husband, and a good father. “He would never hurt anybody”(Le Guin 1). She knew that something was not right about him anymore. In this twisted story “The Wife’s Story” keep readers intrigued and lurking for more and wanting to know more about these characters. The author Ursula Le Guin uses these characters to make the reader think that they are humans and that the live very strange live’s. “He was a good husband, and a good father” (Le Guin 1). She says that they take long walks in the woods and they live there which says that they are no human. As the wife finds that the husband is changing and that he is not himself. The wife sees

She shows her emotion and which leads to something bad and only you know what is going to happen and the character has no idea what is going to happen. The wife says that it's the moon's fault. It's happened before. It happened to his father, it was in his blood. He always went hunting and never came back with anything, he has no game. He kept away that whole day and did not return till late after the kids were asleep. The reader this far is thinking that they are just regular humans and thinking that they might just be a little strange. The story of twisted that way making us think a different way. We think of the story that we're so original, boring, and not natural. When the reader reads this it makes their mind think in a different way and make their brain flip. In the story there is a part where the wife sees him changing and this is where the reader finds out that the characters are something different like wolves. “He was white all over, like worm's skin.” (Le Guin 2). She was him change into a human and he did not tell anybody. After, she saw her little girl be scared of her own dad she kinda knew something was not right. “He stood up on two legs” (Le Guin 3). She knew something was not right about him anymore and she found out.
