How Does Writing Change Throughout Paris

This text was focused on his journey and experiences throughout Paris, although as a person there weren't any huge changes in forms of personality, values, great realizations etc, as you would find commonly in a fiction based novel, he did have many great changes in perspective along with the feel of the city changing his mood for months on end. His writing had evolved greatly throughout meetings with great profound writers, the authenticity that his early short stories seemed to lack that Paris was full of along with how often he would head down to the cafè down the street from him that he often referred to as his “private office.” His writing had always been absolutely beautiful yet I find the progression from this book to be incredible. …show more content…

Writing took him back to that place and time and made him feel exactly as you do when you read the book, he could feel every bit of what we feel, that is what separates great writers from good writers. He had natural talent although in Paris he began sculpting his writing into a craft. He wrote everything with emotion because he could feel it, he didn't have to be there to smell the restaurants or see the races, he had every ounce of it in his heart and that soon became enough for him to write. I believe all of the built up emotion and pouring himself into his writing was eventually what drove him to suicide. Throughout this book he had taken a downward spiral from poor and trying to cope to depressed. He had left three wives ( I believe one died in a plane accident.) He attempted to take anything that made him happy, or worth living away, then he wrote. Writing was his muse throughout this story but eventually throughout the story it became his last grip on life. I found as every season changed he did also, he couldn't adapt to the weather without allowing it to change him, without realizing a lot of us
