The progressive reform that had the greatest impact on American society was the 18th Amendment which made the producing, transporting, or selling of alcohol prohibited. It all began when the Anti-Saloon party gained an advantage during World War I. Women who began these reforms gained support because of their influence on the workforce. If the women had not helped by working men’s jobs during the war, it would not have been as easy. Another aspect of the war that contributed to the amendment's publication was the limited resources available. Since alcohol was made of food sources, many saw it as a waste of food supply that could have been used for “our boys at war”.
Essay Do you know about the changes to daily American life during World War II? Life in America changed greatly during World War II as the nation organized to aid in the war effort. It was during the World War II and I understand that we wanted to win, but the US was blinded and didn’t see that they were going to kill many innocent lives. The US only cared about winning and they were going to destroy anything that got in their way; even people that didn’t have anything to do with this.
World War I started in the heart of the Progressive era. The Progressive era was a time of efficiency, economic growth, and skill. By “1914 [the United States had] produced over one-third of the world’s manufactured goods,” (Foner, 680) making the U.S. “the leading industrial power” (Foner, 680). Europeans had already “complained of an “American invasion” of steel, oil, agricultural equipment, and consumer goods” (Foner, 680). At this time, America had both the economy and population to produce enough soldiers, supplies, and money to win any war.
Between World War Ⅰ and World War Ⅱ, economic changes were the most prominent changes within the United States due to the extremity in which the economy changed. The Economic changes, such as the rise and fall of the stock market and and inflation, within the United States were the most notable changes between world wars. The United State’s economy following WWⅠ “boomed” or improved drastically. The condition of the economy slowly deteriorated as the United States began its involvement in World War Ⅱ. Domestic factors were major contributors to the rise and fall of the nation's economy.
Societies often change as a result of wars, for example, France after its Revolutionary War. Throughout history, American society has been altered due to the many wars the country has fought. One specific war which has made an impact is World War II. Not only did fighting on foreign fronts impact society, but the experiences of those left behind at the home front has also significantly influenced society. The many trials which women and Japanese-Americans faced have changed the way that American society functions.
Education and technology changed in a massive way during the Cold War. This was because during the Cold War, the United States was on a race with the Soviet Union to get the best technology and one up each other in education, economy political influence, etc. Technology was also heavily influenced because of the War. Some of the things the Soviets and Americans invented weren 't expected for another couple of years and were way ahead of their time. Some of the things invented were Direct Distance Dialing, basic computer language, L.E.D lights, and our very first satellites.
After WWII, society took a drastic change for the better in America. America had just gone through the Great Depression, which was the deepest decline in America’s whole history and everyone was affected. Numerous people lost their jobs and were no longer able to afford basic necessities like a house, food, and water. Many could no longer support their families and had nothing. This was all in result of the market crashing, sending the economy into a downward spiral.
World war i and World War ii helped us learn alot about peace. After wars there are things they did so that they wouldn’t get into another war. Some of the things they did worked. I feel that there will end up being another world war. This can happen for many reasons.

The diversity of student backgrounds, abilities and learning styles makes each person unique in the way he or she reacts to information. The intersection of diverse student backgrounds and active learning needs a comfortable, positive environment in which to take root. Dr. King continues by explaining, “Education which stops with efficiency may prove the greatest menace to society. The most dangerous criminal may be the man gifted with reason, but with no morals.” From back then to today’s society, kids are failing because they lack those morals that they need to succeed.
It shouldn’t matter how we choose to learn the lecture, material, or lesson, but as long as we understand the concept to the fullest capacity can fit. According to Dr. Wu, “To change behavior, it 's important to give children brief and powerful messages several times and consistently” (Wu), as he explains how the child 's brain is still developing and needs brief and powerful messages consistently. Which theater is the perfect remedy for what Dr. Wu is explaining. Everyday people walk by, not noticing the small things that make up life and so it 's easy to take things for granted. The importance of education is to empower one’s mind of knowledge but does it matter the process of how you achieve that?
It is my goal to make sure students are not just memorizing facts, but are actually understanding. They should be able to take the lesson and apply it to other areas of their lives. I believe students need to be assessed frequently and routinely. The students need accurate and effective feedback, so they can make any necessary adjustments.
