With the arrival of the Europeans, the Guarani citizens made many changes to their culture. One way that they changed was that they started to live apart from nature.the Guaraní also changed what they were wearing to more than a few peices of cloth. Lastly, they changed their religion. The Guaraní. Changed most of their culture, but in the end a war took away all of the Guaraní’s progress. The Guaraní changed the way that they lived along with nature. In the beginning, the tribe live as “animals” in the forest and collected the things they needed from the natural resources.while living in the forest, the Guaraní killed a Jesuit priest and sent him over Iguazu Fall tied to a cross. The tribe had done this as a symbol of rejecting the European ways of life including their religion. After this, Father Gabriel (a Jesuit priest) came and showed the Guaraní citizens kindness. Father Gabriel had gone to convert them over to Christianity, or else they would have been turned in to and sold as slaves. The Guaraní went from living as “animals” in the forest to living as “civilized people” in houses on the missions. While living in the missions, the Guaran wore a more “civilized” form of clothes. The war wiped out all of the changes that the Guaraní tribe had made to their culture, in order to accept the European ways of life.
