How Has Globalization Affected China

Globalization is the process of international intertwining of culture, trade, perspectives, and other views. This ideology has the world in various ways with the growth of the Internet, technology has a growing industry in developing countries and the way living standards are different from the past. But with China, globalization has taken both a positive and negative on the country, especially the environment. For example, air pollution in China is still an increasing concern.

China has positively affected by globalization in various ways. Their economy has grown into higher level compared to where they were before. Data describes that back in 2008, the nation's GDP was previously 4.522 trillion US Dollars worth, but in 2013, GDP had double in amount to about 9.24 trillion US Dollars. Competition and interdependence between nations and countries has increased as well(Zhiqiang).The amount of people living in poverty has decreased, in 2005 approximately 18.8 million people lived with $1.90 or less daily. For example, because of China's cheap labor and low manufacturing costs, many multinational corporations go over and outsource over there. Though it may be good for the corporations, those in other countries have less opportunities to work in that type of industry. Exploitation is a big issue in China as well, child and criminal labor has rapidly increased since globalization. Human trafficking has increased also because of how much faster it is to transport goods and services. Illnesses may also spread because of the poor environment and travelling people.
