The Great Gatsby, is a novel by F. Scott Fitzgerald. The novel tells a story about a generous man in the 1920’s where love has gotten the best of him. And of course telling a story of how society was in the “old days”. Your wealth played a big part of society, too, and where your money came from. Such as if you were from old money or new money.

The American Dream… A dream in which people come to america to accomplish. Which is, most of the time, to become known by many and to become wealthy and to live a happy and healthy lifestyle. The american dream has not changed to much over the century. And of course everybody wants to become rich.
As so in the the novel The Great Gatsby. The man in the novel, Jay Gatsby, grew up like any other kid would in america that lived on a farm. His family was wasn't so much rich they were more on the poor side than anything. When jay was in his late teenage years he got a job as catching fish for local restaurants. While he fishing one day a storm came in and the waters was rough and he saved a man and his vessel from sinking and from that day on his life was forever changed. He left home and became friends with him. Jay grew older and explored the world with this man over a few years.
