Describe the assumptions you hold about your ‘intelligence’ and how they may or may not have changed over time. Length 200 words
The ideas and thoughts that I hold about my ‘intelligence’ have varied over time. In addition to it I do believe that my mindset was never constant in relation to my scholastic ability.
I strongly do believe that my abilities can be evolved and my intelligence can be developed too. But mine have probably since my Secondary school as I still remember. I have always desired to learn something new. I did embrace challenge and never gave up so easily so as still do. Therefore, my assumptions about my intelligence correlates with what we call is growth mindset as consonant with Dweck’s (2014) notion.
But it was never same back in the time during my primary school. I was one of those Students who used see that intelligence is Static. At that time, I have always avoided challenges and gave up very easily. I always felt defeated and looked-for excuse for problems. I cannot state that I Always had a growth mindset like Dweck’s (2014) 10-year-old research Students who ‘Embraced’ quite hard Problems. But depending on the area of discussion I largely do believe that in some subjects I had the ability to grow my intelligence. For example, In Mathematical Problems I have always involved with very difficult Expressions with the guts to never give up and embraced hard problems consistent with Dweck’s (2014) notion of growth mindset. I think It was because of my Sustained Passion towards Maths and the feeling to preserve this Passion or we can say I had the power of ‘grit’ as consonant with Lee Duckworth’s Survey on Grit.
