The Holocaust During the 1930s Adolf Hitler became responsible for the mass murder of Jews among other groups,reaching a peak during World War II. The Holocaust was a genocide , targeting Jews and other groups that didn’t fit the ideal person for the Nazis. The Nazi Party, or the National Socialist German Workers’ Party, was a totalitarian form of government led by Adolf Hitler. During the Holocaust the Nazis had one main goal; to eradicate humans who didn’t have the “ideal” appearance for them. They worked to create what they thought was the ideal race to dominate the world, and in doing this they destroyed millions of lives.

Josef Mengele was a doctor who worked at Auschwitz, performing unspeakable experiments on many of the people at the camp. Every experiment he performed was too much for the human body to endure and had resulted in death .(Smith) All of these loathful men are a major part of history and it is important to have knowledge on the devastation they caused.

“Imprisonment in a concentration camp meant inhuman forced labour, brutal mistreatment, hunger, disease, and random executions” (The Killing Machine,Projet Aladin). These people were kept in disgusting and inhumane conditions. Concentration camps were widely used throughout the Holocaust , they were vile, barbaric and in no manner a way to treat any human being.
The Holocaust, taking place in the 1930s , is a major part of history. Many people lost their lives due to the harsh and vicious actions of Adolf Hitler along with the help of other cruel leaders at the time . This genocide, led by Hitler, began in order to create the “perfect race”. Hitler and his followers had believed that Aryans , or their ideal race, was destined to take over Germany and reign over the world. To achieve this perfect race the Nazis believed they had to wipe out all groups that did not fit their standards.
The Holocaust is important to know and understand because it teaches how it is important to have morals and treat others with respect, let alone like humans. It also demonstrates how genocide is an ongoing issue in this world and that it can evolve into something even more threatening in the future. The Holocaust was an unfortunate event that lasted eleven years , killing thirteen million people. It was a cruel and dark time that is in the past, but events similar to it are still an issue in today's world and it is important to recognize
