Although separated by over 430 years, the most notable adventures of Christopher Columbus and Charles Lindbergh are both two pieces in the history of exploration. Like many other ventures, they share some similar characteristics: the intent of the trip, the obstacles that came as a result, the important factors that made each quest successful or unsuccessful, and the final result of their travels. The expeditions share many similarities, yet have various differences. In the grand scheme of things, however, they both interconnect the most with their vitality to the progress in the world that we live in.
They were both going to California from New York. Another similarity is that they both had an accident. They had it at just around the same time. The last thing they had in common was that they both were going a bit crazy and didn 't have enough sleep due to the thought of the hitchhiker.
We are going to be talking about all of their similarities. To began they both were leaders, and has a great amount of power. They also both ruled over countries and had huge impacts on their countries. You can't forget that they both changed the world in their own individual ways. People also still look up to both of them because of what they did to the world.
All throughout history, humans have documented their experiences to be carried on for later years. They either express it in a journal, tell it through art, or they tell them as stories to live on. All this information helps historians understand life then, and why our world is like it is now. When explorers first came to America, it was something that wasn’t expected. It was something never done before.
The main comparison between these two, is the adversity they both fought through when they lost a parent. This made each of them become a wholly different person, and in a good way. Another main comparison between the two would be how poorly they were treated. Jackie Robinson was treated very poorly by the general public and baseball fans because of his skin color. Paul Revere and the american people were treated poorly by the British occupants and that led to the Revolutionary War.

Number one, if Christopher didn’t discover America, the french explorers would never have been interested in going to these lands, and number two, Cartier was born just one year after Columbus discovered America. So you can imagine that Cartier, and a lot of other explorers, grew up around the stories of Columbus. This probably sparked imagination and a lot of admiration and inspiration to be just like him, just like Christopher wanted to be like Marco Polo when he was a boy. They changed North America by the Columbian trade, and changed the Indians by trade,
they both were a part of the House of Representatives. They both wanted to become vice president also. John C. Calhoun did actually become vice president. They both were active in a lot of events. Both were trustworthy and people loved them.
Christopher Columbus as we know is the historical person credited for the discovery of the New World. Zheng He was a Hui-Chinese mariner, explorer, diplomat and fleet admiral, who commanded voyages to Southeast Asia, South Asia, the Middle East, and East Africa. Each men and their fleets had two completely different reason for their travel. Christopher Columbus purpose was to find a new trade way to the Asian countries. Zheng He's purpose was to enlarge empires control of seaway trade.
One similarity that have in common that they were both slaves. I know this because in the first article "Wesley Harris: An Account of Escaping Slavery." and the second article "An Account from the Slave Trade: Love story of Jeffrey and Dorcas" states that they are slaves. The next thing they both have in common is that both men suffered consequences. Jeffrey suffered by standing up for his true love but she did not get sold with him because the owner only needed one and she had a family of 5.
One idea seen throughout Phillip Roth’s, Goodbye, Columbus, is the connection between the little boy in the library and Neil Krugman. These characters share a direct link between them which goes unnoticed by Neil in the book. Neil looks at the boy and comments on his characteristics and traits but fails to see the underlying similarities between them. The main similarity is how both characters are searching for a greater purpose in their lives. Both the boy and Neil place themselves outside their general orbit.
Harriett Tubman fits Almost all the same traits as Rusesabagina, while Florence Nightingale share some. Some comparisons are, they both cared for people during a time when no one else would. They made it their mission to protect people from harm, and in Harriett Tubman’s case, lead people to safety. Paulo Freire made points about how a good leader is never born perfect, but they gain the skills they need along the way. Tubman was able to do what she did by learning how and when to travel safely and during which times.

But what we don’t know, is what Columbus thought when he arrived in the North America or what he though of the Native Americans he met. In fact, we don’t know much about all the explorers after Columbus and what they thought. Christopher Columbus and Hernan Cortes were both famous Spanish adventurers during the Age of Exploration. When the explorers came upon land, they encountered two different cultures. In 1492, Columbus encountered the Taino people, and in 1520, Cortes encountered the Aztecs. The two cultures that the men encountered were different in more ways than they were similar in regards to how the natives treated the men, what weapons they had and their war-like behavior, their technologically advancements, their housing and architectural structures, and even their religion.
