First, Daisy and Nick join Gatsby at Gatsby’s house next door where her and Gatsby get some time to recollect themselves, “He hadn 't once ceased looking at Daisy, and I think he revalued everything in his house according to the measure of response it drew from her well-loved eyes. In the novel, The Great Gatsby, F. Scott Fitzgerald adds to the effects of nervousness in the passage through imagery that details Gatsby’s feelings towards Daisy when he reconnent. When Nicks opens the door for Gatsby “ I went out and open it, Gatsby, pale as death with his hand plunged like weights in his coat pocket, was standing in a puddle of water glaring tragically into my eyes” (86). This statement is showing how Gatsby is extremely nervous, all he can do is stand there like he is a statue. Jay is intrigued by Daisy’s presence, it conveys Gatsby’s mood, he was nervous seeing Daisy for the first time in five years. Upon on Nick’s description of Gatsby “ Gatsby, his hand still in his pocket, was reclining against the mantelpiece in
In the novel, “The Great Gatsby’ by F. Scott FItzgerald, chapter five could very easily fit under the title “ Nervous Jitters”. In this chapter of meeting Daisy, Gatsby’s nervousness came out in many ways. In the beginning of this chapter, before Daisy shows up to Nick’s house, Gatsby clearly shows how nervous he is. At two minutes to four, he tells Nick, “Nobody’s coming to tea.
In William Golding’s Lord of the Flies, one of the main characters, Ralph, is head chief from the beginning. Rebellions against Ralph start to elevate one evening when he is making a long speech about the bad series of incidents that lead to them not being rescued; these rebellions cause him to ponder about stepping down from being chief. However, it was his own fault that the boys turned on him because he was naive at the fact that the group before him was formed of immature little boys and a jealous one.

But when she gets there, he backs out like a child. His whole life (after meeting Daisy) was based around getting Daisy to be his, so I understand that he was nervous to see if his hard work in becoming a great person worked on her, but Gatsby should had passed his nervousness aside to talk to her, without Nick.
