The world's environment is in a bad place right now. There are many things that are ruining our environment and most of them can we fix. The united States alone is using five times more of an Ecological footprint than any other country. One thing that makes a big impact on this ecological footprint is Genetic Engineering. Genetic Engineering has many ways that it can help us, but there are also many was that it can hurt us. So the real question is if it is really worth it.
Genetic engineering has become a problem in the environment and could really end up enhancing a negative effect in the long run. Genetic Engineering is the change of an organism's genetic composition by artificial means. It often involves transfers of specific traits, or genes from an organism into a plant or animal of completely different species. It all started to become a problem back in 1976 when they started putting GMOs in foods. Some people think of this as scientist playing god and in the long run these GMOs could really end up hurting you and your body.

Some of these thing you may already know about, but here are a few that aren't as common as say, using GMOs in food as a byproduct. One of these would be mass-produce insulin. Most people may not know this but, insulin is a hormone produced in the body which controls the amount of glucose in your blood. Another thing that genetic engineering is used for is growth hormones and disease while they can still be used for research. These are just a few of the many things that genetic engineering can be used for even though there are still some serious negatives to
