An effective leader is someone who influences others to do what is needed to complete a task or goal. Good leaders must know the appropriate and inappropriate times to take risks if they want to be victorious. One example of an effective leader is present in The Odyssey. By Homer, this epic poem tells the tale of a leader named Odysseus, who wanted only to guide him and his crew back to Ithaca safely. Odysseus is an example of an effective leader because he uses his cleverness to get him and his men out of danger, he’d do anything in his power to save his men, and he takes full responsibility as leader.
