Book one is about how Odysseus has been gone for 10 years. It tells us about what has happened while he was gone. It also describes what his family has been through while he was gone. At the end

Book five is about what Odysseus has been doing for the 10 years he's been gone. He's been on an island being held captive by the Goddess calypso (she was also, a nymph). Hermes was told by Zeus to go get Odysseus back from and brings him back home. (For the past 7 years Odysseus has been having a affair with Calypso)

Odysseus came out victorious in the Polyphemus battle because he tricked him and said that "his name is nohbdy". After that they had to defeat the cyclops too. After defeating both Polyphemus and the cyclops, Odysseus and his ship crew headed on route to the next destination. In book 10 Odysseus land on the island of Aeolus, where they stay with him for a month. When they leave Aeolus give them a far west wind and a bag holding all unfavorable stormy winds. While they were within sight of home the ship crew decides to open the bag of stormy winds thinking it was a bag of gold and it blows them back to the island of Aeolus. Since they were at point one again the head to Aeaea, where they split up, Odysseus and half of the crew stay on the ship while Eurylochus and the rest go on land. While on land Eurylochus and the crew with him encounter the witch, Circe and she ends up
