Elizabeth was very popular as she had a very grand coronation, she also went to many royal progresses where she would go to many of the noblemens home she also used propargande throught her painting which didnt resemble her real features which where her scars from having smallpox, she also had black teeth due to the sugar in her diet not only this but she also had to wear a wig because of her thinh hair. Elizabeth received a good education and by the time of her coronation she could speak many languages such as; Greek, Latin, French and Italian. The Royal Court was the centre of all political power during the Elizabethan period. She livied in Whitehall palace in london where she had her ladies-in-waiting and servants living with her, together with her chief advisers and government officials. This was a group of advisers and ministers, chosen by the queen, to help her rule the country. Privy Councillors were chosen from members of the noble and gentry classes, and occasionally archbishops. Within the first few months of becoming queen, the queen had appointed nineteen men to her Privy Council,many of who where in Mary I 's Privy Council.The Council met regularly, generally two or three times a week which became but more frequently later in her reign the queen rarley attended Council meetings and it was not compulsary for her to accept the advice that the Council gave her.The council had a number of main functions and its duties were carried out by individual Privy Councillors. Elizabeth’s parliament was not as powerful as today. It met only when the queen wanted it During the queens long reign there were just ten parliaments which met on thirteen occasions, mainly for raising taxes and finance at one point the parliment didnt meet for 26
