In the book Lord of The Flies by William Golding, we realize that Ralph is not the stronger person but he does understand people more than what Jack does. Ralph uses his good qualities to help their society survive on the island. We all know that young kids like the boys need good leadership and stability so they have a better chance of living longer till they get saved. If they get saved. Ralph then goes and creates rules that all the boys need to follow by in order to keep everything under control. Meanwhile Jack doesn’t treat everyone fairly like Ralph does. Meanwhile Ralph can keep everyone under control and in order during the meetings that the hold due to having to wait till they can get the conch to speak. When Ralph says he will give the next person who wants to talk the conch this shows the boys that Ralph wants inforce the rules. So when Ralph said that he had to have the conch in his hands. This also shows the boys that they have a good leader in charge and enforcing the rules by being a stable leader. With doing this he gets all the boys on his side and give him confidence and respect for his leadership abilities. Ralph treats the boys as equals. With his leadership qualities are shown when he has a constant defence of Piggy.Piggy is one of the weakest people out of the group of boys. This makes Piggy pretty much get bullied and treated bad by the others. When Jack hits Piggy's glasses off of his face Ralph calls this a dirty trick.This shows that Jack isn’t paying attention to the other humans while he shows kindness and the ability to deeply understand others this way illustrating his understanding of the people. Ralph is some way is running a government which would be like a democracy which means that all of the boys would get equal rights and they can express themselves the way they want. Jack treats the boys mostly Piggy as a less of a person and importance. Then when Jack goes hunting and get meat he gives some to all the boys except for Piggy which made his really mad and upset. So then he goes and asks for some due to being hungry and they aren't eating that much during the day Jack asks him if he was the one who was out hunting. But yet many of the other ones like the littluns. Jack is only treating Piggy like this due to being one of the weakest people on the island. Jacks hatred shows that he has the lack to understand people and being a good leader and take care of all of the boys.
