In this modern era, Shakespeare is still relevant in classrooms, it shows the student the importance of literature and the things that happened during Shakespeare’s era. Through this, Shakespeare made us understand the types of works/characters, truth about humanity, and the beauty of the language on how it was used. Firstly, Shakespeare made us understand his works through tragedy in which must end with a massive catastrophe for example, in Pyramus and Thisbe the audience could understand that their love could end up like Romeo and Juliet. Shakespeare had written 37 plays, and 154 sonnets in which most of this is relevant in English language, and could be translated into 80 different languages.
Shakespeare is the famous author of many different plays and poems. He began his writing in the 1500’s, and moved on to theatrical work as well. According to Barnet, “ eighteen of his plays were published during his lifetime.” ( Barnet).
While these two arguments oppose each other in certain perspectives; they both agree that Shakespeare's work are relevant. In both a historical retelling of the time period, and share important themes and messages.
William Shakespeare’s works are still very popular today. He was a poet and playwright, his plays capture the complete range of human emotion and conflict. All his plays consist of brilliant stories. Shakespeare was recognized around the world as the greatest influential poet and dramatists in the English language. He was the founder of modern English, he understood the power of language, its ability to paint landscapes, create atmospheres and compelling characters.

The dreadful play Macbeth, written by William Shakespeare in the sixteenth century, has created a lot of controversy towards the issue that it is not relatable to a modern audience anymore. However, the themes, and character traits found in Macbeth are very similar and relatable to a modern society. The play Macbeth, demonstrates humanity, which will never change, attesting to the fact that, the play is still relatable to a twenty-first-century audience.

I believe that Shakespeares plays are still very relatable and the themes can still connect with the 21st century. Macbeth, for example, has many themes that could connect with the themes and fundamentals of today. Some of the themes in Macbeth that are relevant today is the corruption of power, ambition, and fate. All of these themes happen today in the 21st century, making Macbeth very relevant today.
