The past couple of decades have also been struggling because it wasn't that important to them, but now it's the number one topic in today's society. The novel To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee connects to the modern world through its analysis of race and education. Even though this novel took place many years ago, some of the same problems exist today. Racism continues to exist in the modern world by showing what people really like, especially in this modern world today.
