DO YOU THINK THAT ODYSSEUS IS A GOOD LEADER IN CHAPTERS 9 10 and 12 OF THE ODYSSEY?

The Odyssey is a collection of stories that happened after the Trojan War. They document the life of Odysseus when he goes to fight in the Trojan War. It was written by a renowned poet named Homer. It is classified as a myth and is a prehistoric tale with no hard evidence.
Odysseus was the Greek king of Ithaca. One day he was given the choice. To live a long and fruitful life but when he dies, he will be forgotten or go fight in Troy and die but his name will go in history.

In my opinion, leadership is the ability to lead or teach a group of people to accomplish what they want to. They also must be authoritative and must be able to coordinate a group. A …show more content…

The Cyclops’ rams were handsome, fat, with heavy fleeces, a dark violet. Three abreast, I tried them silently together, twining cords of willow from the ogres be then slung a man under each middle one to ride there safely, shielded left hand right.”
From this quote, you can infer that Odysseus is quite cunning. This is after he stabbed the Cyclops in the eye. Then he needed to hide himself and his crew somewhere. This is as the Cyclops was in a blind rage and was killing almost everything around him. The only things that he wasn’t killing were his rams. They were the Cyclops’ only meat food source and he didn’t want to kill them. Then Odysseus tied each member of his team underneath each ram and then they made their escape. This proves that Odysseus is very good at coordinating a team and is wise and knows how to get his crew out of dangerous …show more content…

He also gives Odysseus a leather bag filled with all the winds that will blow the boat astray. What happens next is a very good example of Odysseus displaying bad leadership characteristics. Odysseus doesn’t tell his men what is in the leather bag that was given to him by Zeus and the rest of his team wants to find out what is in it. The ship nears nearer and nearer to Troy, and everyone can see it in the distance. But then Odysseus falls asleep and the eager grew rushes over to the leather bag and opens it up to see that it is empty.
